DIY businesses have a hard time starting out; whether trying to find a start up capitol, a venue, proper branding, awareness, publicity, or simply just finding customers. ...And it's even tougher for the weird ones.

There are a sea of other businesses just like yours. And it can be an upward slope standing out from the pack. We here at CreepyQueen have been trying our hardest to offer independant alternative businesses the attention they deserve.

We offer promotional giveaways, free features, shopping guides and even advertising. But now, we're taking it one step further. We're going straight to the hype- The celebrities that are weird like us-- and have already found their way out of that sea. Our gift bags will be delivered right to those celebrities. And, they will be choc full of your products!

And we won't just stop at the baskets!

We'll create a Press Release featuring all the participating shops and distribute it, offering more chances for your basket to make some headlines! We'll also take a photo of the completed basket for you to display on your website.

We will also forward any direct thank-yous from celebrities, send any photos found or sent of them wearing your merchandise, or any mention of you on their twitter account or in an interview!

1. First, take a look at our upcoming gift baskets.  If there is one (or all) you'd like to participate in, please follow the steps below. If you are interested in a basket that has been moved to 'Past and Recent'  but you feel there is still enough time for you to make and send it out to us, feel free to contact us about one of these baskets.

2. Before contacting us, please sign up and become a member. We send all important gift basket information through our newsletter, and if you include an item in a gift basket and are not signed up, you may not receive notifications or updates on the status of your basket!

3. We review all product before allowing submission into our gift baskets. So once interested, please email creepyqueen [at] live [dot] com with some photos of the products you would like to include. If you will be making a custom item for the celebrity, please include a sketch of the item, and some photos of past work.

Please do not be discouraged if we do not accept your item. We may have felt it was not right for the basket/celebrity, or we may not have room left. Please feel free to submit to future baskets. 

4. If you are accepted into the basket, we will send you an invoice via paypal with the current inclusion fee. Once paid, you will be provided with a mailing address. Note: We are located in Canada. So please allot yourself enough shipping time.

**We must receive all products within a week of the deadline. Please do not contact us about baskets with deadlines you cannot make in time.**

We will not accept late submissions under any circumstances and will not refund your inclusion fee, so be sure to purchase express shipping when sending your items to us.

We are not responsible for Customs or VAT charges.  Please mark your packages as 'commercial sample' or 'gift' as we have not purchased them.

If we do receive a package that needs to be paid for, we will contact you with the charge and leave the package on hold. If you refuse to pay the customs fee, the package will go unclaimed and be returned to you.

Please do not make your packages signature or confirmation required. We get a lot of packages, and we can't realistically make it to our post office everyday to sign for packages. We contact every participant as soon as we receive their packages, so there is no worrying about it's safe arrival.

5. Once all items have been received we will take and edit photos of the completed basket and ship the gift to the celebrity.

*The package does not necessarily ship out on the date posted. All items must be received by this date. It should be regarded as the final deadline. Packages usually ship one week after the date.  This allows for photos, the writing of the press release, and any discrepancies or editing needed.

6. We will then publish the press release, which you may use on your website. We cannot guarantee that this press release will be picked up and printed-- but we will do our best to distribute it to as many outlets as possible. 

The press release will be linked in our newsletter, and available on the website. 

7. We will then forward any further news, photos, interviews, etc via the newsletter and through the website. You may also watch your celebrities' twitter account or photo sites like mr. paparazzi, tmz,etc.

 Are there any requirements to be included?

Yes. Your product must be approved, you must pay the inclusion fee, and you must  get your product to us a week before the deadline. 

Our gifting services are also only offered to small, independant, and DIY businesses. That means you have to have less that 5 employees. After 5, we say you are slightly bigger than small.

What are the benefits of Celebrity Gifting?

Upon purchasing a spot in CreepyQueen Gift baskets you will be guaranteed a photograph of your basket, inclusion a press release that will be distributed, and you will also have permission to use these on your own site as promotion. We will also include photos and promote the gifting opportunity here at CreepyQueenMagazine.com.

We cannot guarantee nor will we offer refunds if a celebrity is not photographed wearing your product or responds with a thank-you.  Even without reciprocation from the celebrity, the press release and photograph and mention of inclusion will be a great feature to add to your website, shop, or press page.

Why do I have to pay an inclusion fee?

You are paying for the service provided. The fee includes setting up and shipping the basket, the time taken to take and edit photographs, and the time taken to write the press release.  Press release distributors charge to publish a press release, and all baskets are shipped guaranteed express.

How much is the inclusion fee?

The inclusion fee varies by basket and celebrity. It varies upon demand, and sometimes we can offer specials, deals, and packages that include more than one basket. Once you express your interest to us via email, we will discuss the fee for inclusion.

Please be sure and sign up for the site, because we often feature exclusive gifting deals through the newsletter.

Please mention any deal's code upon contacting us.

Fees will often  be between $25.00 and $100 .00. Other celebrity gifting companies offer their services for upwards of $500.00. We realize that you are often operating out of your own pocket, so we try to keep the fees at a minimum.

How will a celebrity to contact me once the basket has been sent?

We encourage you to send a letter to the celebrity along with your item to be included. In that letter you may include a self-addressed stamped envelope to make it easier and more convenient for them to get back to you. If you find that a little too pushy, just include your mailing address, email address, and website in the footer of the letter, or just a business card will do.

If we receive any information from celebrities, we will forward it on to you, or it will be posted in our newsletter or on the website.

How will I know if the celebrity has been taken in a photograph?

If we at CreepyQueen happen upon any photographs of a celebrity sporting your product, we will send it via the newsletter and add it to the website. Check back often! We will also forward any thank-yous or letters. 

Always keep up to date on your celebrities. Find out their most active fan sites, and see if they are on twitter. If you happen on a photo of a celebrity wearing one of the items gifted to them in one of our baskets, please forward it to us! 

How will I be updated on the status of my basket/product?

all participants will be notified when their package has been received to the email provided at the time of inclusion. All other updates, will be posted through the member newsletter. The press release and photos will be posted shortly after and any contact or thank-yous from celebrities or their contacts will be posted via the newsletter, on the site, or emailed directly to a participant if specifically mentions them.

Can I suggest a celebrity for future baskets?

Yes! although we can't make any promises, send your suggestions to creepyqueen [at] live [dot] com.

We here at CreepyQueen do not guarantee any of our gifting services. We do not offer refunds, cancellations, or exchanges. All payments are final. Packages requiring additional customs fees upon receipt will not be claimed and be returned to sender if the sender refuses to pay the fee.
