This topic always makes me laugh, except of course when it happens to me!
What is the worst, craziest, most painful, or funniest thing that has ever happened to you while crafting?

The stupidest thing I have ever done while crafting was leaving the house while I was in the middle of melting candle wax.  Yeah, I did it.  I come home some time later to the fire alarm blaring and the house filled with smoke.  I couldn't figure out what the heck, until I walked into the kitchen and saw the pan on the melted stove.  Melted blinds, light fixtures, and burn marks on the cupboards.  Yes, wax can catch on fire.  It was scary.  I don't make candles any more.

I was cutting the back end of a bobcat skull at work last year, and it skipped and went through my left pointer finger down to the bone. I said "Oops" and ran to the bathroom with a drippy finger, and my boss was yelling about getting the biohazard off the floor. Funny thing is, I worked at a shop that processes bones and whole animals. How do you call blood a biohazard when you have rotten animal flesh and bone dust all over the place? LMAO

ow. I don't know if I've ever done anything while crafting. I was making homefries on the stove once and the oil caught on fire. Stupid me then threw water on it and it errupted and melted the liquor cabinet door. I eventually threw a washcloth on it after the flames got high enough to lick the ceiling.

This was in like grade ten when my brother still lived with us. He was out in the backyard and he actually saw the fire from down there. He didn't even come up. 20 minutes later he shouted 'You better air the place out before mom get's home'.

No 'Are you okay?'.

btw- the fries were amazing. mm char.

not so much painful, but everytime i work with glitter it consumes my body. i feel like frickin tinkerbell till it all goes back to wherever wayward glitter goes. that stuff does not like to come off.

i have had hot glue disasters. and dremeled my finger.

apparently i craft like i skate.

Hehe, Dotted with Hearts, I totally feel you with the glitter.  It's pretty permanent for awhile.

I think both the stupidest and worst thing I've done in the name of crafting was when I put a chisel through the side of my wrist during Woodshop.  I was so excited to start working on my project, I held it down with my hand instead of the clamp resulting in a hospital visit, cast, and thousands in neurosurgery bills.  Superawesome.

It's pretty much a given that I stab myself with my little teeny tiny screwdrivers everytime I'm taking apart a watch... I guess it's true, one must suffer for one's art

lol...that's why I shell out for health insurance every month.  I think my picture is in the dictionary under "accident-prone".

When I was in highschool... I was making a pillow.  My bed was a hide a bed couch (because it made my room look more like an apartment).  It was late and I was finished and needed to go to bed.  I stuck the needle in the arm of the couch, so I would not loose it.  In the morning, while getting up for school, I put my hand down on the arm to get myself out of the hide a bed.  I did not loose the needle; it was suck 3/4 through my palm!!!  LOL

this wasnt during crafting, but a result of my hotmess crafting ways!

i stepped on a steel thumbtack, it went all the way into my heel.

i had to use pliers to pull it out.
