Creepy Queen Magazine is an alternative fashion magazine, blog, and community.
It is our aim to provide articles and content that display the other side of fashion that doesn't normally get the limelight; like alternative fashion, lifestyles, and DIY culture.
We love alternative fashion. And we know you do to. So enjoy Creepy Queen, and help us grow!CreepyQueenMagazine was started January 2009 by KimmiKillZombie of UvKITTY.
CreepyQueen was started after KimmiKillZombie found a serious lack of promotion in the industry for crafters who crocheted buttwarmers- not tea cozies, who embroidered skulls- not chickens, and those who preferred crafting with a beer in hand or after the sun had gone down.
She found that every site she advertised on resulted in few clicks and little sales, because there were no online blogs and communities that were geared towards a darker audience, and the ones she had tried, proved to be flops. Frustrated, Kimmi created CreepyQueen with a $0.00 budget.
CQM became a haven for crafters, business folk and fans of the alternative side of fashion.
She kept CreepyQueen afloat by writing free features and articles on local crafters, and alternative items found at online venues like etsy, artfire, and dawanda. Soon, small businesses were sending in products for giveaways, and Kimmi was receiving applications for stores wanting to be featured, and fans wanting to join the CQ writing team.
CreepyQueen caught on, and more and more readers everywhere began purchasing ads, and joining the site. Within it's third month online, CreepyQueen was able to upgrade their hosting, and purchase a domain, as well as snazzy up the site.
CreepyQueenMagazine is now almost a year old, supported and survived solely by our awesome donatees. We now own two domain names, creepyqueenmagazine.com, and creepyqueen.com, and have been featured in BUST magazine's newsletter, and Craft Gossip!
A site that used to only contain a handful of blog posts now posts a thriving community with over 300 members, a link directory filled with alternative handmade shops in tons of categories to shop from, an active blog featuring the hottest products, contests, and artists, and a print issue, released this January, on CreepyQueen's first birthday.
We at CreepyQueen are always looking for submission ideas, products and sites to review, and product donations for giveaways, so visit the contact us page to fill out a submission form to get your shop featured in CreepyQueen Magazine!
